Spring League Updates

WVFHC DELAYING THE START OF SPRING LEAGUE

Today all the executive board members from the Greater Vancouver Junior Field Hockey League agreed that the league will be pushing back the start date of spring league. The tentative start date for the league is now going to be April 18/19. We will continue monitoring what is happening with the coronavirus disease and make a judgement call as we get closer to April 18.

We are constantly monitoring the rapidly developing situation regarding the global COVID-19 pandemic and are taking guidance from local and provincial health authorities. If anything changes we will notify players, coaches and parents immediately.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

  • Goalie clinics for players age Grade 5+ interested in trying and perfecting their goalie skills.
Tuesday to Thursdays (starting 31 March) from 6-7pm and from 7-8pm on the practice pad at Rutledge.
Beginner goalies should come to the 6-7pm session.
No need to sign up, just turn up - but don't forget to bring your team's goalie gear!
  • U13-U15 – High Performance Development program – weekly skills development led by professional club coaches

  • U13-U18 – High Performance teams – try-out based training teams who undertake weekly skills development led by professional club coaches and who compete at local tournaments

Our Philosophy

  • Have fun!!
  • Foster friendship and belonging
  • Learn and develop field hockey skills
  • Build self-confidence and leadership
  • Promote sportsmanship
  • Instill a life-long passion for sport

Our primary focus is creating a fun environment where playing with friends can be enjoyed year after year. To that end we create teams in a non-tryout, non-evaluation program. Players can remain with the same team from U6 to U18, strengthening their sense of belonging and teamwork every year.
